Source:# 800 VEALL 'George' on the Boer War Honour Roll in Violet Town Vic., presented by the local community with a watch when he went away to fight in the Boer War, born 1868 in Sth. Melbourne (Emerald Hill) and died in 1946.

URL3: Private G VE'ALL, of Violet Town, of the First Victorian Contingent, has decided to return to South Africa with the Sixth Contingent now forming. Private VE'ALL tried unsuccessfully to get into the police or railway service in Melbourne, and has made up his mind after the war to settle in South Africa.
URL4: Returning to the War. Private Geo. VE'ALL, of Caniambo, who was one the First Victorian Contingent who went to South Africa, has decided to go back with the Australian Contingent now being enlisted. Private MASON, of Wangaratta, who served with one of the regiments raised at the Cape, has also decided to again offer himself.
