URL7: Mr. Edmund Charles BUTLER JP, who died at the Dandenong Hospital on Saturday evening [24.2.1945] after a brief illness, was one of the best-known citizens of the Dandenong district. He represented central riding in the shire council for fifteen years, and was president of the council for one term. He was secretary of Scots' Church, Dandenong for 23 years, member of the Dandenong Rotary Club, a past president and secretary of the Dandenong Agricultural and Pastoral Society, treasurer of the Dandenong District Hospital, secretary of the Dandenong Red Cross men's auxiliary and the Air Training Corps, a member of the high school committee and of the tribunal of the Dandenong Football Association, and was a past president of the Dandenong Bowling Club. Mr. BUTLER was born in Newstead, Victoria, 63 years ago. He served in the Boer War. He leaves a widow, one daughter and one son, who is a member of the 2nd AIF. The funeral will leave his home, "Sydenham," 53 Scott-street Dandenong, at 3pm today. for the Scots' Church Dandenong.

BUTLER.- On February 24, at Dandenong, Edmund Charles, dearly loved father-in-law of Darrell, and loving grandfather of Marjorie, and greatly loved friend of Helen.
