There was a large number of military officers present, and Major W HOLMES (1st Regiment) performed the ceremony. Armidale Express: The Allotted Span - On Saturday morning [3.8.1901] word was received at Belltrees of the death, unexpectedly, of Mr. ES EBSWORTH, of Waverley, father of Mrs. HL and Mrs. AG WHITE, of Belltrees, and Mrs. JC WHITE, of Edinglassie, Muswellbrook. It is a remarkable coincidence that the sorrowful news should have arrived on the anniversary, and much in the same way, as that of the death in South Africa of his son, the late Lieutenant EBSWORTH. Though the late Mr. EBSWORTH had almost travelled man's allotted span of life, the unexpected news came as a great shock to the two households.
