URL2: remained in S. Africa for further service when 5QIB returned to Aust.
URL3: BANK BAILED UP. The manager of the Harrison Street branch of the National Bank of South Africa, Johannesburg, which was bailed up on Thursday [21.3.1907], at latest advice, was Captain WJ FERGUSON, son of Lieutenant Colonel FERGUSON and brother-in-law of Mr. CM JENKINSON MLA. Captain FERGUSON left Queensland with the fourth contingent, and at the conclusion of the South African war he was offered a position for the National Bank of South Africa, first as accountant, and subsequently as manager, and after holding several positions of responsibility, he was appointed manager of the Harrison Street branch of the bank.
