Source:# 1304 studio photo in uniform, written on reverse "Mr Douglas Eard Goldsmith Born 1882 in Edithburgh SA. Attended Roseworthy College c1899". Embarked for the Boer War with 3rd SA Bushman Corps. After the Boer War moved to WA 1908 to take up virgin land at Pingelly & farmed successfully. Sold out and moved to Northam 1928. Died 1951 buried Karrakatta Cemetery near Perth.
URL1: Tpr. GOLDSMITH DE 'F'Sqn. 1st Troop SAIB arrived in Albany WA 22.4.1902 from Capetown via Durban per 'Manchester Merchant' for Adelaide.
