Source:# 576 born 1877 Glenorchy Tas., photo in uniform. Overwhelmed by the problems of Africa he later went to Sudan as a missionary working for the Slavery Repression Department and was killed by those he had gone to help. He died in his 31st year but his body was never recovered. A memorial service was held in Glenorchy Tas. and his death date given as 1.3.1908. A stained glass window in the Methodist Church, Glenorchy is dedicated to his memory.

URL3: [left Capetown for Aust. 6.2.1902] - the Gothic, which has on board 18 men for Sydney, 6 men for Melbourne. Vet.-Capt. MCLEOD, of Queensland Bushmen's contingent, and 2 men for Brisbane, Surg.-Capt. REID of Western Australian Mounted Infantry a 1 man for Fremantle, Civil Vet.-Surg. BURNS and 1 man for Adelaide, and Lieuts. BISDEE and Hallam, of the Tasmanian Bushmen's contingent, for Hobart.
