3rd National Capri Muster and CCC6 - 28-30 October
2005
The Convocation of Capri Convertibles and National Capri Muster (for any car
badged Capri, from the original Lincoln Capris of 1950 onward) is a weekend event
to showcase as much of the Ford Capri marque as can be found to attend. And to have as
much fun as possible in doing so!
Events will include: Treasure Hunt, Dinner & Trivia night, Capri & Other Small
Ford Cruise, and Show 'n Shine at various locations in Canberra. This year the event is
being run in conjunction with the RS Owners' Club Ford Forums Classic.
A special accommodation deal has been arranged with Rydges
Eagle Hawk Resort, on the Federal Highway on the northern outskirts of Canberra.
Programme details:
- MEET & GREET: As for the three previous meetings, the Kurrajong
Hotel, National Circuit, Barton, is the venue for the initial get-together for those
who can make it on the Friday evening about 6:30 pm.
- SATURDAY BREAKFAST: You are on your own for this one, although people
staying at Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort will have their buffet breakfast included in
the accommodation cost.
- TREASURE HUNT: Saturday morning sees the first vehicle event with the
Treasure Hunt starting around 9:30 am at Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort. This
event replaces the Observation Run of previous years and should be a challenge to even the
best crews. The event will take around 2 hours and cover up to 100km.
- BBQ LUNCH; will be held at the completion of the Treasure Hunt; location
will be at Weston Park.
- SHOW N SHINE: This will be at the BBQ location. An area will be set
aside for the Show n Shine, entrants will have time to prepare their cars for
judging prior to and during the lunch period. The Show n Shine should start around
12:30 pm and end around 3-3:30 pm. Trophy presentation will be around
2:30 pm.
- DINNER & TRIVIA NIGHT: The traditional dinner and trivia night will be
held at Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort. This should commence around 7 pm. This
gives entrants a few hours after the Show n Shine to wind down and prepare for the
big evening.
- DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: DST starts in the wee hours of Saturday 29th, so you
get one hour less in bed. But that gives you an extra hour on the Sunday to enjoy
yourself!
- SUNDAY BREAKFAST: A Buffet Breakfast at Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort
will start the day, between 8 am and 10 am. Entrants accommodated at Rydges will
have a complimentary breakfast, locals who would like to breakfast with them will need to
book through the Registration Form at a cost of $14 per person.
- POWER CRUISE: Following breakfast a Small Ford cruise will depart around
10 am. The cruise will take in some of the local sights and should arrive at the Exhibition
Park In Canberra (EPIC) at around 11:30 am. The vehicles will again be parked in
a display area and on show to the public. Entrants will be free to wander through the Swap
Meet, entry fee is $3, and have a self funded lunch from the food stalls.
- SWAP MEET: Canberras annual Swap Meet at the EPIC commences at
7 am for those interested in searching for the early bargains or those much sought
after spare parts or restoration pieces. The Swap Meet is an all day event presented by
Veteran, Vintage & Classic Motorcycle Club, around 600+ stalls at the 2004 event.
Note: Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort will
be the focal point for the Capri Muster/CCC6/RSOC event, and ASFOC recommends those coming
from out of town take advantage of the following accommodation package that has been
arranged with Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort:
Standard Room: $85
Superior Room: $115 |
Family Suite: $115
Spa Suite: $205 |
Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort
accommodation includes full buffet breakfast.
When booking you will need to mention that you are with the:
Capri Muster/CCC6/Ford Forums Classic Event |
Some of the locals will be booking a room for the night, so book in now and join their
party - why go elsewhere after the Dinner and Trivia night only to return next morning for
breakfast?
You can download a PDF of
these details to print and refer to offline.
There is a downloadable Registration Form also in PDF, which should be completed and forwarded
to the address on the form, with payment by cheque or Australia Post Money Order, as soon
as possible.
