Seminar Summary - May 2017

"GS Formulations"

A horseshoe nail was lost.

For the loss of the nail, the horseshoe was lost.

For the loss of the horseshoe, the horse was lost.

For the los of the horse, the rider was lost.

For the loss of the rider, the message was lost.

For the loss of the message, the battle was lost.

For the loss of the battle, the war was lost.

For the loss of the war, the kingdom was lost.

And all for the loss of a horseshoe nail!

Questions …

  * How impossible is this - How unlikely is each step?

  * Does this demonstrate an outcome that is "a function of many variables"?

  * Which of our favourite GS formulations does this utilise?

  * Can you point to a real-life situation that is a bit like this :-( ?
