Apart from nearby objects such as the Magellanic clouds, galaxies are generally fairly small objects and not suited to wide-angle shots.  Most of these images are therefore taken using the  C14 and ST10 combination with either Astrophysics or Optec focal reducers giving  F7.4 and F5.8 respectively.

The following images were taken with a 1981 vintage C8 and a ST10 with an Optec focal reducer
