Apart from nearby objects such as the Magellanic clouds, galaxies are generally fairly small objects and not suited to wide-angle shots. Most of these images are therefore taken using the C14 and ST10 combination with either Astrophysics or Optec focal reducers giving F7.4 and F5.8 respectively.
